The Harold Hunter Foundation (HHF), based in the heart of New York City, is dedicated to transforming the lives of urban youth through the power of skateboarding. Created to honor the memory of the late skateboarder and actor Harold Hunter, our 501 (c)(3) nonprofit is committed to fostering personal growth, community engagement, educational opportunities, and job development for teens and young adults.

Harold Atkins Hunter (April 2, 1974 – February 17, 2006) was an American professional skateboarder and actor. Not only was he the first professional Black skateboarder from New York City, he also played the role of Harold in Larry Clark's 1995 film "Kids". Since its founding in 2007, the Harold Hunter Foundation has honored Harold's legacy by empowering children and young adults through our skateboarding-based programs and events, which include Skate Camp and Harold Hunter Weekend

HHF's 2024 Programs include:

Our coaches also lead weekly Skate Sessions at skateparks throughout the city for free!
